Busy Summer and Autumn 2019 Term
As we move closer to the end of term I thought it was about time to tell you all what we have been up to since the end of the 2018/19 academic year.
Ishani and I were very lucky to take part in a 3 week intensive summer school at the Bhavan in London, under the expert guidance and tutelage of Sri Surya Rao, having been taught an array of new items we ended on a high note taking part in a performance at the summer school finale.
Just before the start of term I was lucky enough to be joined again on stage by Ishani, and two of my students – Arushi (Grade 1) and Ananya (Grade 2) as we performed the piece Siddhi Vinayakam (Choreographed and taught by Sri Surya Rao) at the MK Ganesh Chaturthi puja and celebrations in Stantonbury Campus.
Once again in October this time, my students – Primary, Grade 1 and 2 were invited to perform at the Northampton Diwali Lights celebrations in the Market Square in Northampton. The girls were very excited to be performing, with the younger girls from primary joining Grade 1 presenting a collage of slokas in praise of Ganapathi, Saraswati, Laxshmi and Shiva sung by the Bombay Sisters, and the Grade 2’s performed a Pushpanjali joined by Ishani – in Satyam’s new uniform costumes. Both groups did fantastically making their parents and teacher very proud.
